Initial Outlook Configuration
Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 has been installed on your system. You may need to configure your user settings when first loading Outlook. Simply load outlook and follow the directions outlined below. Should you have any questions at any point during these steps please contact a CRU technician and we will be happy to assist you.
(Note: You are not required to follow the directions below. If you feel as though you would rather have a technician perform the initial setup, remain logged in to the computer and find a CRU technician. We will be happy to assist you.)
- Load outlook. (Start-> programs-> Microsoft Office-> Outlook 2007)
- At the welcome screen entitled “Outlook 2007 Startup”, click next.
- Select “Yes” when asked if you would like to set up an email account.
- Select “Exchange” as the type of email connection and then click next.
- When it asks for your name and email address follow the directions according to what is displayed:
- If your full name is displayed and grayed out and your full email is written in the email box, click next. The system should auto update and inform you that outlook is setup using “Exchange Server”. Click next and finish. You are done.
- If your name is not displayed proceed to step 6.
- Click the checkbox in the lower left corner that says “manually configure”
- When asked which type of email account, click “Microsoft Exchange”
- When asked for the exchange server type: “MBOX”
- Under the “exchange server” box you will be prompted to enter a user name.
- Enter your full name and click “check name” (full name= Last name, First name)
- Click next
- When prompted for your user name, your user name is your last name.
- Once you have obtained access to the outlook program, send an email to the help desk requesting that your calendar settings and outlook archive settings be set.
- You are done !
