Outlook Anywhere Settings

  1. Click on Start and select Settings, Control Panel, Mail.
  2. Click on "Add" and enter "Outlook Anywhere" for your profile name.
  3. Enter your account information and then check "Manually configure server settings..." at the bottom. Click on Next.
  4. Select "Microsoft Exchange Server" as the Server Type.
  5. Enter "mbox" as the Exchange server. Check the "Use Cached Exchange Mode" if you're using a laptop computer. Enter your CAESDO user name in the bottom box.
  6. Click "More Settings..."
  7. Click cancel on any warnings.
  8. On the Window labelled "Microsoft Exchange Server", select the "Connection" tab.
  9. Check the box labelled "Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP and click the "Exchange Proxy Settings" button.
  10. Enter "mail.caes.ucdavis.edu" as the proxy server for Exchange. Check "Connect using SSL only", "On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP", and ""On slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP". Use NTLM Authentication.
  11. Check "Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate" and enter "msstd:mail.caes.ucdavis.edu" in the box under it.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Click Next.
  14. Click Finish.
