How to sign into ArcGIS Pro

Use this guide to sign into the ArcGIS Pro application on a workstaiton.

As of December 2018, through joint funding by College of Agriculture & Environmental Sciences and the Office of the Provost, UC Davis provides access to ArcGIS Pro, as part of the ESRI Institutional License, to all active students, faculty, staff, and sponsored affiliates for university-related research and teaching purposes. However, before you can use the ArcGIS Pro application for the first time, you must create your ArcGIS Online account.

The instructions below will walk you through the process, but if you encounter any issues, please create a Helpdesk ticket for further assistance.

Sign into the ArcGIS Pro application:

  1. Launch the ArcGIS Pro application
    • If the workstation is managed by the CAES Dean's Office Computing Resources Unit and you need ArcGIS Pro installed, please create a Helpdesk ticket.
  2. Select the option for ENTERPRISE LOGIN
    • IMPORTANT: Do not enter your UC Davis computing account username and password in boxes provided.
  3. In the organization's URL field, enter "ucdavis" and click CONTINUE
  4. Select the option for UC DAVIS KERBEROS
  5. Enter your full email address and password, then click Sign in
    • If you receive an error indicating your account does not have an ArcGIS Pro Named User License assigned, follow the instructions below to claim your license, which can take up to 15 minutes to provision.

Claim your ArcGIS Pro Named User License:

  1. Open a browser and go to
  2. Select Sign In in the upper-right corner
  3. Select the option for UC DAVIS KERBEROS
  4. Enter your full email address and password, then click Sign in
  5. Wait 15 minutes before attempting to sign in to the ArcGIS Pro application
